CD101 Provides Soundtrack to Capital City Half Marathon

Station's Active Audience Features Large Group of Runners, Walkers

COLUMBUS, OH (Feb. 29, 2008) — John Bingham Racing is teaming up with The Alternative Station, CD101 (WWCD), as its official FM radio broadcast partner for the fifth annual Capital City Half Marathon and Commit to Be Fit 5k on April 12 in the Arena District. CD101 has created a 60-song soundtrack that will energize the race course for four hours while participants run and walk the 3.1 and 13.1-mile courses.

"We are pleased to partner with a great station like CD101. For nearly 20 years, it has been a consistent force in radio in central Ohio, understands how to activate sports marketing relationships and has become an incredibly popular radio station," said John Bingham Racing President David Babner. "To our demographic, music on the race course is an important element to what we do in working to create a rich deep experience for our runners and walkers. CD101 will become a large part of that."

The half marathon soundtrack will be playing at the start and finish line, at all aid stations on the course and the CD101 truck will also be at the half way mark. On Air Promotions will urge listeners to get moving and get healthy and the race events will be included on the CD101 events calendar at www.CD101.com. The radio station will also have a strong signage presence in the start/finish area of the race on Neil Ave. on the west side of Nationwide Arena.

"It just so happens that the half marathon and 5K finish right on the door step of where we will be holding our annual CD101 Day celebration, celebrating the 101st day of the year," said Karac Ruleau, Promotions Director for the station. "And we know our listeners, they are an active group who like to run or walk as part of the healthy active lifestyle. That's why CD101 is a perfect fit to partner with John Bingham Racing, the Capital City Half Marathon and the Commit to be Fit 5K."
